The CSU’s more than 2 million alumni are a powerful force within California. They shape the state’s future through teaching, agriculture, business, and sciences. Approximately one in ten workers in the state has a CSU degree, including more than half of California teachers and more than half of its state legislators.

The parents of the CSU’s more than 414,000 students are also a growing force, involved in campus programs and activities that support their students and CSU campus programs. Each year, more CSU alumni see their own children becoming CSU graduates.

Private and corporate donors have contributed billions to support the CSU campuses and system initiatives. Many of the CSU’s financial supporters are themselves alumni and parents. Through their contributions, they provide the CSU with a “margin of excellence” in its courses and programs.

Thanks to the support of these strong constituencies, the CSU remains a leader in high-quality, accessible, student-focused higher education.
