Public Service

• One of the few women to be voted tribal leader for the Barona Band of Mission Indians.
• During her tenure, the tribe donated millions to education and healthcare facilities, infrastructure, and the environment. She is committed to promoting the importance of higher education to tribal members.
• Perhaps best known for precedent-setting efforts to improve tribal relations with neighbors and local government. Working in collaboration with the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, she initiated a $6 million road improvement project funded jointly by the tribe and the county government.
