• Oversees 2,600 employees working in over 100 separate locations with a $614 million budget including 200 different funding sources.
• Secured $50 million in competitive federal funding to improve the Orange County indigent health system.
• Oversaw the planning and implementation of the Mental Health Services Act (Proposition 63) programs in Orange County.
• Leads Orange County's H1N1 pandemic flu preparation and response coordinated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the California Department of Health.
• Commissioner on the Children and Families Commission, which funds comprehensive school readiness programs for young children and their parents.
