- Responsible for all day-to-day worldwide operations of the motion picture and television industry trade association and is a member of the MPAA board of directors.
- Previously served as national executive director and CEO of the Screen Actors Guild; executive vice president then vice chairman at MGM; executive vice president and general counsel of Paramount Pictures; and partner at Los Angeles-based law firm O'Melveny & Myers.
- Chariman of the Motion Picture and Television Fund and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Pacific Council on International Policy, and the Executive Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
- In 2009, the Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel honored him with its Founder's Award.
