- Co-founder of The Archer School for Girls in Los Angeles, the first single-sex school founded in the last 30 years and the first ever based on social science research about the way girls learn.
- Founding director of the Institute for the Study of Women and Men at the University of Southern California.
- Founding partner of VU Productions at Paramount Studios, the nonfiction arm of UBU Productions dedicated to creating documentary—and reality-based programming for television on social issues regarding women, children and families.
