• 2008 Man of the Year for the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce for his volunteer and business efforts.
• 2008 Business of the Year by the California State Assembly for his ownership of the Camarillo Marie Callender's Restaurant & Bakery.
• Assisted in the development of the Henry "Hank" L. Lacayo Institute for Workforce & Community Studies Internship Program. This program places a select group of students into local businesses and organizations for unique internship experience and has already placed over 45 students in internships locally with many success stories for permanent careers.
• Successfully coordinated the launch of the GOLD Team California Pilot Program for Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom and State Assemblyman Jeff Gorell. This program encourages job creation and economic development for Ventura County.
• An avid community supporter, he has served on the boards of eight local community organizations.
• An integral part of the 20/20 CSU Channel Islands Strategic Planning committee.
