| Alumni Council Participation in Systemwide Policy
As the representative voice of the CSU’s 2 million
alumni, the Alumni Council plays an active role in helping
to shape CSU policy and participate in strategic decisions.
Members of the Alumni Council and Chancellor’s Office
staff to the Council meet regularly with CSU leaders and participate
on systemwide committees to ensure that alumni are represented.
Standing Meetings:
- The Alumni Council selects a trustee to serve on the
Board of Trustees
- The Alumni Council president makes a report to the Board
of Trustees bimonthly
- The Alumni Council president and members of the Executive
Committee meet the Chancellor and Vice
Chancellor to discuss University priorities and the Alumni Council's efforts to promote and protect the interests of the University
- Alumni Council representatives participate in Presidential
Search Committees (ad hoc or formal participation on systemwide
search committees)
Membership on Systemwide Committees:
- The Alumni Council president or the president's designee
is a member of the Hearst Trustees Award for Outstanding
Achievement selection committee (under the CSU Foundation)
- The Alumni Council designates a representative to the
Systemwide Budget Advisory Committee
- The Alumni Council designates a representative to the California State Student Association
- The Alumni Council designates a representative to the California State University Systemwide Academic Senate
