Alumni Council Meetings

MINUTES

1. Call to Order and Approval of Minutes - Bob Linscheid
   Bob Linscheid, President, called the Executive Committee meeting to order at 10:10 a.m. and the minutes were approved as presented.
   President Linscheid reported that (1) he had dinner with Chancellor Reed, (2) there are six new Trustees and (3) offered words of thanks to Marge Grey and Tom Hoeber for the Council's Annual Report.



2. Roll Call - Larry Augusta
   Larry Augusta, Secretary, took roll and a quorum was announced.



3. Review Calls Made During Week of Sept. 8-12, 2003 - Bob Linscheid
   1. Talking Points
      Committee members reported on telephone phone calls made to the Council regarding a PowerPoint presentation entitled "A Road Map to New Opportunities."
   2. Tweak the PowerPoint?
      PowerPoint comments received:
      1. Define advocacy
      2. Succession planning
      3. Concern that Vice Presidents for Advancement will communicate that Directors are spending too much time advocating
      4. Message/direction from Chancellor needed at all levels
      
      
      
4. Agenda Review - Bob Linscheid
   1. September 19-20, 2003 Program Overview - Review Draft Agenda
      The September 19-20, 2003 CSU Alumni Council's two-day program overview and agendas were reviewed. It was noted that the 1:00 p.m. Orientation will consist of a few getting to know you questions.
   2. September 19, Executive Committee - Review Draft Agenda
      Recommendation to (1) add a Legislative Report to the agenda, report to be given by Mrs. Zamarripa, (2) update the Council's Committee list and (3) confirm the March 2004 Fresno quarterly meetings.
   3. September 20, Business Meeting - Review Draft
      Recommendation to add a Legislative Report to the agenda, report to be given by Karen Zamarripa.
   
   
   
5. Old, New, Other Business - Bob Linscheid
   1. Campus MOAs Due October 1, 2003
      Reminder that campus MOAs are due October 1, 2003 and the Chancellor's Office/Council MOA is due November 1, 2003.
   2. Registration Fees
      President Linscheid will review registration fees paid to the Alumni Council; he will provide his thoughts/recommendations at a later date.
