My Story, My CSU
- My college advice
Take the time to explore the courses that interest you, even if they don't relate to your major. No one is one-dimensional and this is a unique time in your life to find out who you are and to shape your future.
- My favorite professor
Dr. Julia Johnson. Her Communication Criticism course taught me to look more deeply into the world around me and its meaning.
- My first job out of college
I worked in the state parole office for an amazing nonprofit called VIP Mentors. This organization assisted parolees who were willing to make positive changes in their lives and matched them with an attorney or judge as a volunteer mentor. This job influenced my views on a lot of things and it was rewarding to see the hard-won success stories and the good that people can bring to the world.
- My hope for the future
My hope is that our work will result in continued and expanded access to high-quality education to any Californian that wants to attend college.
