Amy Costa
Amy M. Costa serves as the Associate Director of Advocacy and State Relations. In this role, she represents the California State University before the legislature and state government. In collaboration with the Assistant Vice Chancellor, she provides analysis and advice to the California State University system on legislative and policy matters.
Prior to serving the Chancellor, Amy M. Costa served twelve years in the California Legislature. During her tenure, she served as a District Director, Legislative Director and Education Policy Consultant to the Senate President pro Tempore. In her roles, she assisted the Senate Democrats with education policy and budget matters. Additionally, Amy’s work included legislation on elections, air quality and gender equity.
A native Californian, Amy’s career spans political organizations in the Bay Area and Sacramento. A graduate of St. Mary’ College of California, with a B.A. in Communications, Amy began her political career as a college intern. Amy lives in Sacramento with her husband Josh and their three children.
