Mission

The Office of Advocacy and State Relations (ASR) represents and advocates for California State University interests with state government through effective advocacy, outreach and communication and relations with the Legislature, state agencies and other external entities with the support of the system office, campuses, alumni and other supporters.

Vision

The Office of Advocacy and State Relations (ASR) will be recognized by legislators and staff, campuses and other organizations as -

• Knowledgeable about California politics and legislative and budgetary processes;
• Informed about CSU, education and related policy issues;
• Responsive to requests for assistance by external and internal stakeholders; and,
• An effective advocacy and communications operation.
