CSU ADN to BSN Nursing Roadmaps

I graduated from Long Beach City College in December 2010 with my ADN and have been practicing as a registered nurse for a little more than a year. I started as a nurse assistant, then transitioned to a licensed vocational nurse. Throughout this time my goal was to obtain a BSN, but I didnít know which path I would take. Having a baccalaureate nursing degree from CSULB specifically was important to me. Some people are not aware that this university is one of the top-rated universities in the country. I knew that I would get the best education from a knowledgeable faculty who are passionate about education. As a third-semester nursing student with just one semester to go, I can say with confidence that this nursing program has enhanced my intellect and assisted in the development of leadership and managerial skills. A BSN provides students with a more in-depth study of the physical and social sciences, nursing research, nursing leadership and management, community and public health nursing, and the humanities. I believe this broader and more in-depth education enhances the studentís professional development and allows the baccalaureate graduate to better understand the many social, cultural, economic and political issues that impact patients and influence health care.
