I would wholeheartedly recommend San Diego State University to anyone interested in the nursing profession. The SDSU Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (BSN) provided professional opportunities that opened doors I never knew existed. I graduated from Imperial Valley College with an associate’s degree in the registered nursing program and transferred directly to the SDSU Imperial Valley campus.

I was able to enjoy the benefits of a university experience while working full-time as a professional nurse. I am currently employed at a Magnet-designated hospital in San Diego in a progressive care stroke/neuro unit. I am also pursuing my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), specializing in acute/critical care, which prepares me to become a nurse practitioner.

SDSU continues to provide me with opportunities to advance my professional career. The program is tailored to accommodate my schedule while allowing me to study information that is relevant and applicable to my practice. The faculty create a positive learning environment that encourages creative thinking and is flexible to student interests.

I have learned and grown as a person and as a nurse. My fellow students and I were exposed to a diverse array of healthcare fields during our clinical rotations. The SDSU RN-to-BSN program provided me with opportunities to advance my career options within my hospital and to network within the community. I recommend the SDSU RN to BSN program to any nurse interested in a quality educational experience that focuses on research, evidence-based practice, and patient-centered care.

I am proud to be an SDSU alumna. Go Aztecs!
