Section 508 Web Standards
(p) When a timed response is required, the user shall be alerted and given sufficient time to indicate more time is required.
What does it mean?
Alert people when there is a time response required and provide more time for a person when it is needed.
How to evaluate
An alert system is conveyed in an accessible method. The alert system generates an option to allow a person to request more time to read content or complete a task such as submitting an assessment. The page does not time-out while the person is accessing it. People are given adequate time to complete the task. People have control over content changes instead of automatic changes on the web page. There is a way to turn off automatic changes and a link to get updated information.
