Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI)

Success Statements: CSU San Francisco

Established the President's Task Force on Accessible Electronic and Information Technology.

Created a campus ATI Web site: www.sfsu.edu/access.

Completed first-year Web assessment.

Developed, and delivered on-time, comprehensive implementation plans for each of the priorities.

Secured more than $200,000.00 in funding for implementing the ATI.

Created three new staff positions: Information Access Specialist, Accessible Technology Trainer, & Disability Access Compliance Analyst.

Restructured disability services and created the Assistant Director for Information Access Services.

Conducted baseline assessments of all campus Web sites listed in the A-Z directory. (Over 295 sites.)

Recruited 20+ staff members to serve as Electronic & Information Technology Technical Advisors for procurement.

Developed a branding plan for the ATI.

Provided extensive consultation/technical assistance to enterprise level projects (SF State Careers, ASI on-line voting).

Strengthened collaboration between disability services and campus bookstore.

Created a comprehensive assessment plan for the ATI.

Developed plan for open captioning of new and existing media collection.

Drafted a proposed Senate policy on the timely adoption of course materials.
