Section 508 Procurement Training

The Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) at the Chancellor’s Office is holding system-wide training conferences on 508 and Procurement. Now that we are in the implementation phase of the ATI, we have developed an agenda with panel presentations and workshops on topics of interest to the many different people on the CSU campuses involved in making purchasing decisions and evaluating the accessibility of technology products.

This conference will offer participants an opportunity to share experiences and approaches, learn from experts, and explore what accessibility means. Basic sessions in 508 standards and processes will be offered, as well as sessions for those with more experience. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn from a demonstration of commonly used assistive technology.

Who Should Attend: Procurement staff, 508 Compliance Officers, Accessible Technology staff, Information Technology staff, Assistive Technology Experts, Disabled Student Services staff, ATI Executive Sponsors, CIO’s, Directors of Academic Technology and Instructional Designers.

Locations/Dates: We’re holding training sessions in two locations - Southern California, in Los Angeles and Northern California, in the San Francisco area.
