Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI)

EnACT/CSU ATI 2007 Summer Accessibility Institute

July 9-12, 2007 - San José State University, San José, CA

Co-sponsored by Ensuring Access through Collaboration and Technology (EnACT) and California State University Accessible Technology Initiative (CSU ATI)

Event Overview

The EnACT/CSU ATI 2007 Summer Institute is an opportunity for EnACT campus participants and key personnel associated with the CSU Accessible Technology Initiative to join together in support of our mutual project goals and priorities.

The purpose of the Institute is to ensure that participants receive accessibility-related training, tools, resources, and support in an effort to provide a quality postsecondary education for students with disabilities. In order to achieve this objective, we envision each day of the Summer Institute as having a separate theme:

  • Day 1--July 9 Perspectives on Universal Design for Learning in Higher Education
  • Day 2--July 10 Developing Accessible Instructional Materials
  • Day 3--July 11 Implementing EnACT on your Campus (EnACT track) OR
  • Day 3--July 11 Implementing ATI Priority 2 on your Campus (ATI track)

We are very fortunate to have a variety of experts serve as key presenters for our 2007 Summer Institute. Session formats will include presentations, panel discussion, product demonstrations, and interactive break-out sessions. Motivational keynote speaker and humorist David Roche is also scheduled to speak at this event as well.

The RegOnline site for this event contains a detailed schedule of events along with important travel information such as locations, maps, directions, and contact information.

Participation at this event is limited to EnACT representatives and campus-identified ATI participants form across the California State University system. Participants will include faculty, faculty development personnel, disability support services personnel, and individuals who support faculty in the use of technology or in the creation of accessible instructional materials (e.g. LMS support staff, instructional designer and academic technology staff).
