Commendation of Chancellor Timothy White’s Requesting
a 10% Reduction in Salary

WHEREAS: The California State University (CSU) has been operating under severe fiscal constraints in recent years; and

WHEREAS: Dr. Timothy White has voluntarily requested (see attached letter) and accepted a ten-percent (10%) reduction in the state funded salary from that initially proposed by the CSU Board
of Trustees on his appointment as Chancellor of the California State University; be it therefore

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of the California State University commend Dr. White for taking such action, which reflects both sensitivity to the current political and fiscal environments, and shows solidarity with CSU faculty and staff who have received minimal compensation increases in
recent years.
