Commendation for Reyes Fidalgo

WHEREAS, Senator Reyes Fidalgo has represented the Fullerton campus on the Academic Senate of the California State University (ASCSU) from 2009-2012; and

WHEREAS, Professor Reyes Fidalgo is Chair of the CSU Fullerton Department of Modern Languages and Literatures with research interests in language variation and change/bilingualism and language contact/morphosyntax; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Fidalgo has served on the CSU Fullerton Academic Senate for eight years and on the CSUF Executive Committee for five years; and WHEREAS, Dr. Fidalgo served as a member of the ASCSU Academic Affairs Committee during 2010-11; and

WHEREAS, Senator Fidalgo was a member of the 2011-12 ASCSU Fiscal and Governmental Affairs Committee; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Fidalgo served on the Chancellor’s Doctoral Incentive Program and GE Course Review Subcommittees during her tenure on the ASCSU; and

WHEREAS, Professor Reyes Fidalgo generously shares her beautiful home for collegial gettogethers and serves outstanding tapas and delicious drinks; therefore be it

RESOLVED: That the ASCSU thank Dr. Reyes Fidalgo for her service to the ASCSU and CSU; and be it further

RESOLVED: That we wish Dr. Fidalgo success and happiness in her future endeavors, both personal and professional.
