Commendation of Dr. Andrea Boyle

WHEREAS, Dr. Andrea Boyle has served with honor and distinction as a member of the Academic Senate of the California State University (ASCSU) from 2006 through 2012, representing San Francisco State University (SF State) with great commitment and expertise; and

WHEREAS, Senator Boyle has offered her considerable talents to diverse ASCSU committees and systemwide groups such as the AB 1295 Nursing Committee, Academic Affairs Committee, Doctoral (EdD and DNP) Review and Development Committees, General Education Advisory Committee, and
Student Health Advisory Committee; and

WHEREAS, Andrea Boyle has held leadership positions in the ASCSU including Vice Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee (2 years), Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee (2 years), and Member of the Extended Executive Committee (2 years); and

WHEREAS, Andrea Boyle has been instrumental in making possible the creation of an Online Education White Paper and the development of systemwide senate resolutions addressing important topics in General Education, the American Institutions requirement, transfer requirements and the needs of veterans; and

WHEREAS, Andrea Boyle has worked diligently on helping to facilitate the seamless transfer of students from the California Community Colleges to the CSU, especially through her work on the SB 1440 Intersegmental Curriculum Workgroup and Implementation and Oversight Committee; and

WHEREAS, Andrea Boyle is known for her considered, thoughtful opinions, her unfailing support of her colleagues on the ASCSU; and

WHEREAS, Andrea Boyle has served with distinction on the SF State Academic Senate and Senate Executive Committee (6 years); and

WHEREAS, In her campus leadership roles as Chair of the Research Council, Member of the Enrollment Committee, Interim Director of the School of Nursing and Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program, Andrea Boyle has helped to enhance the professional development opportunities of faculty and students; and

WHEREAS, Because of her outstanding contributions to SF State, Andrea Boyle received a Distinguished Faculty Award for Excellence in Service; and

WHEREAS, Andrea Boyle helped to re-energize standing committee members with Ghirardelli chocolates and other tasty snacks; therefore be it

RESOLVED: That the ASCSU express its deep gratitude to Andrea Boyle for her dedicated and valuable leadership and service; and be it further

RESOLVED: That the ASCSU wish Andrea Boyle health, happiness, and the best of luck in all her future endeavors.
