; and be it further
RESOLVED: That the ASCSU direct the Executive Committee to prepare a budget trend analysis for the years 2000-2010 for delivery to the ASCSU and Chancellor; and be it further
RESOLVED: That the ASCSU urge the Executive Committee to meet with the Chancellor and Executive Vice Chancellor to discuss the analysis, and to develop a formula for continued adequate funding for the ASCSU; and be it further
RESOLVED: That the ASCSU distribute this resolution to the CSU Chancellor, the CSU Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and CSU Campus Senate Chairs.
RATIONALE: As identified by the Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA), the ASCSU is the official voice of the faculty of the California State University in matters of shared governance and systemwide concern. An adequate budget is necessary to carry out the many and varied tasks associated with that responsibility. The ASCSU budget has been reduced significantly in recent years. This resolution reaffirms previous ASCSU resolutions that speak to the inadequacy of funding for the ASCSU
and directs the Executive Committee to take the additional step of preparing a trend analysis for the 2000-2010 ASCSU budget, and urges that the Executive Committee meet with the Chancellor to discuss the analysis and the development of a formula for the continued adequate funding for the ASCSU.
