Commendation for Dr. Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley

WHEREAS, Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley served as a member of the Academic Senate California State University (CSU) from 1990-2008; and

WHEREAS, Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley has been honored as Outstanding CSU Professor; and

WHEREAS, Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley has been honored as the Wang Family Excellence Professor in the Visual and Performing Arts and Letters; and

WHEREAS, Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley is an internationally acclaimed scholar and teacher; and

WHEREAS, Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley served as Chair of the Faculty and Senate of CSU Bakersfield six times; and

WHEREAS, It would be unethical to sacrifice enough trees sufficient to list all the other ways in which Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley has served her campus and her discipline; and

WHEREAS, Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley has served on all four current standing committees of the Academic Senate CSU (and one that no longer exists); and

WHEREAS, Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley has been chair, vice-chair, or both, of all four current standing committees of the Academic Senate CSU (and one that no longer exists); and

WHEREAS, Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley has served on the Academic Senate CSU Executive Committee as both Vice Chair and Immediate Past Chair; and

WHEREAS, Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley has served three terms as Chair of the Academic Senate CSU; and

WHEREAS, It would be unethical to sacrifice enough trees sufficient to list all the other ways in which Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley has served the Academic Senate CSU, The California State University, and the State of California; and

WHEREAS, Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley’s hard work, dedication, ethical leadership, and professionalism are ideals to which all members of the CSU family can aspire; and

WHEREAS, Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley has touched many lives through her quiet kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity; and

WHEREAS, Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley spends much more energy doting on her children and grandchildren than reflecting on her many accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley continues to serve CSU Bakersfield as Chair of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Faculty Athletic Representative, Chair of the Committee on Academic Standards and Requirements, and in numerous other capacities; therefore be it

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU express its deep gratitude to Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley for her many years of service; and be it further

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU wish Dr. Kegley the best as she continues in her roles as professor, mentor, faculty leader, scholar, mother, grandmother, and good friend.
