Resolution Summaries
CSUERFA held its Fall State Council Meeting on the campus of CSU Fullerton, where the local arrangements were exemplary. In addition to campus delegates guests included Chancellor Timothy White, who addressed the Council, and Faculty Trustee Steven Stepanek.

In his remarks, Chancellor White drew attention to a recent report from the Public Policy Institute that indicated that the State would need 1.1 million additional college and university graduates by 2030. The majority of these will come from public higher education. The CSU must plan for the necessary expansion of its efforts. (Parenthetically, in an editorial comment, this necessitates substantial enhancements in State funding for the CSU and vigorous hiring of tenure track faculty. HG).

The Council had a discussion on the possibility of adding retired CSU Staff to its membership. A number of campus affiliates have Staff as members and reported favorably on their experiences. Others are more restrictive and admit only emeriti faculty as full members. This topic will come up again in future meetings before the Association takes action on it. Such an action can apply only to CSUERFA and cannot be imposed on campus affiliates.

CSUERFA is searching for an Executive Director to replace the current Director who plans to retire in Summer 2016. Full details of the position, and much other news of interest not only to retiree faculty but to all CSU employees, can be found in The Reporter, the CSUERFA journal, which is available on the CSUERFA website, http://www.csuerfa.org
