Description

Any combination of a course or courses that cover the material of Intermediate Spanish I & II combined.

Prerequisites

2nd semester Elementary Spanish or equivalent

Minimum Unit Requirements

8 semester units

Spanish language in context

Communication strategies and techniques appropriate for casual conversion and discussion of abstractions

Cultural norms, values, and culturally relevant appropriate customs and events

Speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills

Analysis of linguistic structures, including cross-cultural comparisons

Advancing linguistic skills: vocabulary, grammar, culturally appropriate language

Culture in Spanish-speaking societies: cross-cultural perspectives

Politics in the Spanish-speaking world

Past, present, future, subjunctive tenses

Listening, speaking, and writing practice:
a. Written communication skills: literary analysis, expository writing, narrative forms
b. Oral communication skills: self-expression, in-class oral participation
c. Listening skills: understanding others
