UIAS Task Force Associates & Affiliates Task Force Members Task Force appointment recommendations are submitted to the COLD Executive Committee by the CSU library directors. The UIAS Management Team reviews these recommendations and forwards a list of suggested team members to the COLD Executive Committee. The COLD Executive Committee then makes the appointments to the UIAS Task Forces. Broad representation of campuses and a balance of individuals working with a variety of local library systems are two important criteria for Task Force appointment. Task Force membership lists are maintained at the UIAS web site. Task Force Associates A campus library not represented on a task force by a task force member may wish to maintain communication with the task force by appointing an associate to that task force. The library director is the individual who nominates task force associates. The relationship between task force members and associates involves the following:
The UIAS Project does not provide travel support for task force associates. E-mail distribution lists and Web pages have been created so that each task force can keep all interested parties well informed electronically if they cannot attend meetings in person. Task Force Affiliates Anyone in each
campus library not serving on a task force, who wishes to receive minutes
and other e-mail regularly exchanged by that group may volunteer to be
a task force affiliate. By allowing affiliates to self-select themselves,
multiple staff in each campus library may have access to the task force
work and the ability to advise the members of the task forces directly.
