CSU STEM Collaboratives

Why is it Important?

National research has shown that disproportionately, students from under-represented minorities, those who are of lower socioeconomic status, and those whose parents do not hold college degrees drop out or change majors in the first two years of college. The issue at hand is not college readiness, but instead factors that fail to engage and excite first- and second-year STEM students. Fewer than 40% of students who enter college intending to major in a STEM field complete a STEM degree.
