4061  WEAPONS

Reference:  Executive Order 228, Amended.

All qualified CSU Peace Officers shall be armed while on duty with sidearms 
provided by the CSU.  See also SUAM Paragraph 4064.02.  Any service 
requiring further armament will be sought from the local law-enforcement 
agencies.

Under unusual circumstances that make it inadvisable for the Peace Officers 
to be armed, the campus President has authority to determine that Officers 
will not be armed, but only after consultation with the campus Director of 
Public Safety.  Such instances shall be reported to the Chancellor's Office as 
soon as is reasonably possible.
