4050.01  LIEUTENANTS

The Lieutenant functions as a representative of management for the 
dissemination of policy and operational directives and also acts as a line 
supervisor to assure that the policies and management decisions are carried 
out.  The Lieutenant also serves as assistant to the Director of Public Safety 
and as Acting Director during the absence of the Director.
