To enhance the effectiveness of the CSU Public Safety program and provide
effective communication between the Public Safety community and
systemwide administration, a CSU Public Safety Advisory Committee has
been established including in its membership the Business Affairs
administrator responsible for oversight of the program, the Systemwide
Coordinator for Public Safety, and three campus Public Safety Directors at
large. Two staff members also have been assigned to work with the
Committee.

The Committee achieves its goal through:

1.	Objective evaluation of various elements of the Public Safety program,
	whether existing, new, or proposed.

2.	Assessment of problems and needs.

3.	Development and achievement of objectives in support of the Public
	Safety Program.

4.	Referral of policy issues to the Vice Chancellor of Business Affairs, the
Chancellor, and the Executive Council as appropriate.

Representation from various areas of the Chancellor's Office and other
entities from which outside expertise is available is requested at meetings
when pertinent to the agenda.
