3102 HOUSING

The Housing Program of The California State University provides residential
facilities for single students. At present, a small number of married students
also are being housed.

The State College Dormitory Construction Fund was established under the
State College Revenue Bond Act of 1947, and bonds were sold to support the
construction of additional campus housing facilities. In 1957, the Legislature
approved a residence-hall program to be financed by loans from the Federal
Housing and Home Finance Agency.

All revenues that accrue through the operation of the residence halls are
deposited in the State University and Colleges Dormitory Revenue Fund
Residence Hall account. Sums remaining after current support expenditures
have been provided for are transferred to the State University and Colleges
Dormitory Interest and Redemption Fund for interest and principal payments
on outstanding bonds. Once payment of all authorized charges has been
made, the balances in these funds remain available for future program
expenses.
