2809  AUDIT PROCEDURES

The California State University is audited by several agencies to ensure that it 
is performing the financial aid functions correctly.  By regulation the CSU is 
required to be audited every other year for Pell, Supplemental Educational 
Opportunity Grant, National Direct Student Loans, College Work-Study, and 
Guaranteed Student Loan program.  The CSU may use its own auditors or 
hire an outside agency to perform the auditing functions.  The CSU has 
chosen to hire an outside auditing firm to perform this function.  Federal 
agencies,  State agencies, and Trustee auditors perform program reviews from 
time to time.
