2809.02 RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE AUDITING FIRM

1.	Contact each campus and arrange for an entrance interview. This
should be done at least two to three weeks ahead of arriving on campus
	to start the audit procedures.

2.	Mail the audit workpaper package to the campus by mid-July. This will
enable the campuses to close their books and to have the workpaper
package available during the time between the end of the fiscal year
and the completion of the Application-Fiscal Operations Report, which
usually is due the federal government in mid-October.

3.	The auditors are responsible for knowing about the financial aid
programs and the regulations that govern these programs.

4.	The auditors are to discuss problems with the campus and seek
solutions to those problems during the audit process.

5.	The audit is concluded with a draft audit report being issued to the
campus for campus review. A copy also is mailed to the Chancellor's
Office, Auxiliary and Business Services, so that ABS may review the
audit findings, ensure audit consistency among campuses, and contact
	the campuses if necessary.

6.	An exit interview is scheduled at least one to two weeks in advance so
that all campus parties and auditing personnel can attend. The
auditing firm is to notify the Chancellor's Office of the date, time, and
location of all exit interviews so that Chancellor's Office personnel may
	attend if they choose.

7.	The final audit report is prepared by the auditing firm and the correct
number of copies is mailed to the federal government, the campus, and
	the Chancellor's Office.
