2808.02  NURSING STUDENT LOANS (NSL)

The Department of Health and Human Services regulations regarding the 
collection of Nursing Student Loans closely approximate Department of 
Education regulations for NDSL.  The same diligence should be applied to 
recovering NSL debts as for NDSL.  Exit interviews must be conducted, the 
billing service (or in-house system) should be used for regular billing, and the 
collection agencies approved for NDSL are used for NSL when necessary.  
Litigation, when appropriate, is required. The use of tax offset and 
withholding of services are recommended.
