CSU Quality Improvement

pbviews - Project Overview

In May 2001, the California State University began implementation of pbviews in order to support various campus strategic management frameworks, provide systemwide accessibility to performance measurement and customer satisfaction data, and ultimately reach new heights for quality in the CSU.

The pbviews performance management tool has served to reinforce the objectives of both the campus and the institution as a whole. It provides campus leadership with the necessary data to make informed decisions, and promotes accountability and improvement in the CSU by facilitating communication regarding priorities, sharing of best practices, assessing the outcomes of key activities on campus, and focusing on areas needing attention.

The tool is currently being utilized to support strategic performance management initiatives on ten campuses, including monitoring student outcomes or the accountability process framework, the balanced scorecard, Malcolm Baldrige, and strategic plans in the administrative divisions. At the system level, the tool supports the performance measurement and customer satisfaction initiative for critical university functions such as Student Health Services, Career Centers, University Police, and Financial Aid, to name a few.

Panorama Business Views’ pbviews software is being utilized by over 350 performance driven government and Fortune 1000 organizations, including the State of Illinois, the Federal Aviation Administration, the George Washington University, and the US Department of Energy.
