CSU Quality Improvement


2006 QI Function Chair Award

Purpose:

To recognize the efforts of a Quality Improvement Function Chair for outstanding achievement in leading a QI function group’s efforts within the CSU system.
   
Criteria:

The nomination should address the following:

Systemwide Involvement: Promoter and effective leader of QI for a CSU systemwide function group resulting in increased participation in systemwide QI initiatives and demonstrated benefit to the CSU or the function group. Efforts may include process improvement activities and/or utilization of an assessment tool.

Mentoring: Supporter of and resource for others, through:

  • Dedicating time and effort;
  • Increasing understanding and application of QI methodology or tools;
  • Leading or involving others in the systemwide QI program.

Examples may include collaborating with other function chairs, performing outreach activities with campus function representatives, giving training or workshops on QI tools, and/or maintaining ongoing communication about QI activities (via e-mail, functional meetings, etc.).

Other Contributions: Active participation in QI at his/her campus, multi-campus QI activities (e.g., training, workshops, etc.); or QI committees. Authored one or more articles for the systemwide QI newsletter or other publications.

   
Award: Framed certificate and up to $1,000 to be used towards registration and travel (lodging and transportation) to a QI event or workshop.
