CSU Encourages Students to be Counted

March 25, 2010
By Marilyn Pitts

The CSU is encouraging students to be counted in the 2010 Census, as they have a long-standing status as a hard-to-count group and the Census determines the allocation of federal funds for education and tuition grants and loan programs.
To help ensure students are counted, CSU campuses have been given Census

Toolkits provided by the governor's office that include a variety of communications. Students in dormitories, residence halls, sororities or fraternities will be counted in those locations and will receive census forms between April 1 and May 21; those living off campus will begin receiving census forms by mail in March. To encourage youth to vote, Voto Latino is providing a free 25-song iTunes sampler to anyone who fills out a census pledge form. More information.
