"Steps" and "half-steps" correlate with a "Rate" identified in the CSU Salary Schedule.
A half-step refers to the differential of approximately 2.3% between rates. A full step
equals two half-steps.

General Information
-
An SBSI is a base salary increase and is subject to performance and service
requirements and the service maximum on the CSU Salary
Schedule.
-
SBSIs are processed monthly by the SCO.
-
The SBSI must be authorized or denied in writing.
-
Campuses are responsible for processing SBSI denials, as appropriate. If an
SBSI-eligible employee is denied the SBSI, only the SBSI denial transaction should be
posted.
