General Information

  • A PBSI is based upon individual merit and effective employee performance as determined by the President.

  • PBSIs are in the form of a base salary increase and/or in the form of a one-time bonus.

  • PBSIs can be awarded in steps or half-steps. The employee's base salary must be consistent with the Rates identified in the CSU Salary Schedule and cannot exceed the salary range maximum.

  • In years where systemwide PBSI funds are allocated, a campus may not award a lump sum bonus from campus funds until the campus's performance fund allocation has been expended completely.

  • In years where no systemwide PBSI funds are allocated, PBSIs and lump sum performance bonuses may be granted from campus funds at any time, at the discretion of the President.

  • PBSIs from other campus funds may be effective at any time.
