Performance Programs (Historical)

General Information

Since the first collective bargaining agreement between the CFA and the CSU was ratified in 1983, the parties have adopted a number of programs to reward meritorious performance. All such programs have included a requirement for peer review as well as administrative review. Prior to the 2007-2010 contract, two prior merit programs provided for increases to base salary: the Faculty Merit Increase Program and the Performance Salary Step Increase (PSSI) program, which was in place from 1995 through 1998. The PSSI program provided for an increase of one or more steps on the salary scale in effect at the time, up to a maximum of four steps in 1995/96 and five steps in subsequent years.
