Equity Salary Program

General Information

The collective bargaining agreement effective May 15, 2007 established an equity increase program for faculty that superseded all previous equity programs. As originally described in the CBA (article 31.17), the equity program was intended to provide increases based on benchmark salaries in defined discipline groups, equity experience stipends for individuals with the most severe salary inequities, and possibly other equity increases.

Faculty members eligible for the 2007/08 equity increase program were assistant professors and equivalent librarian, counselor and coach ranks. Pursuant to provision 31.18, this program was not applicable to faculty unit employees holding classifications paid at flat rates.  For details of the 2007/08 Equity Award program, refer to:

The fiscal year 2008-09 program for associate and full professors and equivalent librarian, counselor and coach ranks was contingent on availability of funding and has not been implemented. However, approximately $1 million in residual salary funding from the first year of the program remained unspent. CFA and CSU reached agreement regarding distribution of these funds as base salary equity adjustments to eligible associate and full professors and equivalent librarian, counselor and coach ranks, effective July 1, 2008. Pursuant to provision 31.18, this program was not applicable to faculty unit employees holding classifications paid at flat rates. For details of the 2008/09 Equity Award program, refer to:
