Base Class Formulas

General Information
  • As noted in the CSU Salary Schedule, the salary rates for some faculty classifications are based upon the salary rates of other faculty classifications. For example:
    • The minimum, SSI maximum and performance maximum rates for classification code 2368, Instructional Faculty, Extra Quarter Assignment, QSYRO, are equal to 4/3 times the corresponding minimum, SSI maximum and performance maximum rates for classification code 2360, Instructional Faculty, Academic Year.
    • Individuals appointed to Grant Related/Specially Funded Instructional Faculty classifications (codes 2387, 2388) receive a differential of 5% to 35% over their respective Academic Year (2360) or 12-Month (2361) salaries.
  • For classifications with a base class, the General Salary Increase (GSI) is applied directly to the salaries of the individual employees and to the base class salary rates. The new minimum, SSI and performance maximum salary rates (as applicable) for the related classes will be calculated based on the formula that relates to the base class salary rates.
