  • Termed Out: Reforming California’s Legislative Term Limits
  • “Center for Governmental Studies released the following report which concludes that Proposition 93 on the February 2008 ballot would improve legislative expertise and strengthen legislative oversight of the executive branch and administrative agencies, but would also allow 85 percent of incumbent Senators to stay in office beyond the current 14 year limit.”

It serves as the starting point for discussions during the upcoming budget subcommittee hearings.

Master Plan For Education
  • Select Committee on California's Master Plan for Education
    In 1999, the Legislature passed SCR 29 (Alpert) establishing the Joint Committee to Develop a Master Plan for Education.  The Joint Committee was charged with developing a new education master plan for California’s next generation of students, one building on our state’s existing Master Plan for Higher Education, expanding that framework to include K-12 education and the many interfaces between K-12 and postsecondary education.
