Miscellaneous Course Fees for Science 112 and PEAK 290 and a Nursing Application Fee- Executive Order Number 992

Attached is a copy of Executive Order No. 992, which authorizes California State University, Bakersfield to establish miscellaneous course fees for Science 112 and PEAK 290, and a Nursing Application Fee.

In accordance with policy of the California State University, the campus president has responsibility for implementing executive orders where applicable and for maintaining the campus repository and index for all executive orders.

This executive order is issued under the authority granted by Education Code Sections 89035 and 89700, Standing Orders of the Board of Trustees, Chapter III, Sections 1, 2 and 6-f-1, and Board of Trustees' Resolution RFIN 03-04-00, and consonant with Executive Order Number 740. Effective October 13, 2006, California State University, Bakersfield is authorized to establish Category III, Miscellaneous Course Fees for Science 112 Laboratory and Physical Education and Kinesiology 290 and a Category IV Nursing Application Fee. The course fee for Science 112 is established at a fee rate of $15, and will cover the costs of equipment replacement in science labs, and provide protective equipment for students. The course fee for PEAK 290 is establish at a fee rate of $15 and will provide tape and pre-wrap supplies for students in the course. The Nursing Application Fee is set at a fee rate of $25 for the first two years and $30 beginning in the third year. This fee will help pay for the costs associated with processing the applications, and will include funding for a student assistant. In accordance with Education Code Section 89721(l), revenue collected from all higher education fees shall be deposited in a local trust unless otherwise specified.
