Category III Pilot E-Learning Fee — Executive Order Number 988

Attached is a copy of Executive Order No. 988, which authorizes California State University, Stanislaus to establish a Category III Pilot E-Learning Fee for the time period of Fall Semester 2006 through Summer 2007. Before the end of the Summer 2007 term, California State University Stanislaus must submit another request to have a permanent e-learning fee established.

In accordance with policy of the California State University, the campus president has responsibility for implementing executive orders where applicable and for maintaining the campus repository and index for all executive orders.

This executive order is issued under the authority granted by Education Code Sections 89035 and 89700, Standing Orders of the Board of Trustees, Chapter II, i, and Board of Trustees’ Resolution RFIN 03-04-00, and consonant with Executive Order Number 740. Effective August 22, 2006, California State University, Stanislaus is authorized to establish Category III Pilot E-Learning Fee. This fee is established for the time period beginning in Fall 2006 and ending after the last day of Summer term 2007. The fee must fall within the range of $75-150 based on cost of delivering e-learning courses to students. The fee will cover costs associated with the initial start-up of the program, faculty development of courses and the administration of the e-learning course system. In accordance with Section 89721(l) of the Education Code, revenue collected from Category III fees shall be deposited in a local trust account.
