This executive order is issued under the authority granted by Education Code Sections 89035 and 89700, Standing Orders of the Board of Trustees, Chapter II, i, and Board of Trustees' Resolution RFIN 03-04-00, and consonant with Executive Order Number 740.
Effective July 12, 2006 California State University, Stanislaus is authorized to establish a Category I Student Recreation Complex Fee that will be charged for the first time in fall 2008. The Student Recreation Complex Fee is established at a fee rate of $80 for fall, spring and summer terms, and $27 for the winter term. Revenue from the fee will be used to build new, and improve existing campus recreation facilities. Uses of fee revenue include support for the construction of a 20,733 gross square foot fitness center for increased intramural and recreation programs including a multi-purpose room, aerobics studio, fitness center, equipment checkout and locker room with showers; enhanced programming for self-defense, more intramural opportunities at premium times, and small wellness classes; a collegiate level stadium for recreational and athletic use: all-weather track, soccer/intramural field with turf, field events with grass turf, soccer practice field, lighting for stadium, bleachers, press box, and restrooms/showers. Based upon a determination made by the campus president and subject to approval by the chancellor, which determination and approval shall be final and conclusive, one-half of the donations to the complex and one-half of the profits from events at the complex will go towards lowering the Student Recreation Complex fee.
Revenue collected from Student Recreation Complex Fee is to be deposited in the Dormitory Revenue Fund if bonds are outstanding in accordance with Education Code Section 90010 et seq. or if no bonds are outstanding, in trust accounts of the centralized State Treasury system pursuant to Sections 16305 to 16305.7, inclusive, of the Government Code or in the California State University Trust Fund or in a bank or banks whose accounts are insured by the Federal Deposit in accordance with Education Code Section 89301(a). |
