Attached is a copy of Executive Order No. 957, which authorizes California State University, Fullerton to establish Nursing Distance Learning Laboratory Instruction, Non-Laboratory Instruction, and Facility Use Fees without expiration. In the future, an overall review of campus-based fees that includes Distance Learning Fees may impact this authority.

In accordance with policy of the California State University, the campus president has responsibility for implementing executive orders where applicable and for maintaining the campus repository and index for all executive orders.

This executive order is issued under the authority granted by Education Code Sections 89035 and 89700, Standing Orders of the Board of Trustees, Chapter II, i, and Board of Trustees' Resolution RFIN 03-04-00, and consonant with Executive Order Number 740. Effective June 24, 2005, California State University, Fullerton is authorized to establish Category III, Nursing Distance Learning Laboratory Instruction, Non-Laboratory Instruction, and Facility Use Fees without expiration. The Nursing Distance Learning Laboratory Instruction Fee rate is $100 per credit unit and the Nursing Distance Learning Non-Laboratory Instruction Fee rate is $50 per credit unit and cover costs that include contracted on-site educators at off-campus sites, distance student support services (advisement and tutorials), and technical support for online and web-augmented courses. The Nursing Distance Learning Facility Use Fee is $1 per hour to cover costs of video conferencing. Students may enroll in nursing courses on campus without paying these supplemental fees. In accordance with Section 89724(a) of the Education Code, revenue collected from Nursing Distance Learning Laboratory Instruction, Non-Laboratory Instruction, and Facility Use Fees shall be deposited in the State Treasury and credited to the General Fund for the support of the university in addition to such other amounts as may be appropriated therefor by the Legislature.
