Orientation and Distance Learning Fees for the Online Master of Science in Information Technology Program - Executive Order Number 944

Attached is a copy of Executive Order No. 944, which authorizes California State University, Fullerton to establish Orientation and Distance Learning Fees for the Online Master of Science in Information Technology Program.

In accordance with policy of the California State University, the campus president has responsibility for implementing executive orders where applicable and for maintaining the campus repository and index for all executive orders.

This executive order is issued under the authority granted by Education Code Sections 89035 and 89700, Standing Orders of the Board of Trustees, Chapter II, i, and Board of Trustees’ Resolution RFIN 03-04-00, and consonant with Executive Order Number 740. Effective May 6, 2005, California State University, Fullerton is authorized to establish Category III, Orientation and Distance Learning Fees for the Online Master of Science in Information Technology Program. The Orientation Fee for the Online Master of Science in Information Technology Program is established at a fee range of $180 to $300 to cover mid-point and initial symposium costs that include meals, lodging, supplies, and training. The Distance Learning Fee for the Online Master of Science in Information Technology Program is established at a fee rate of $33 per unit and will cover the cost of special technology-related expenses of the new program that includes hardware and software (Web server, digital video camera and tripod, faculty notebook computers, and licenses), technical support, and specialized technology training for faculty and staff. In accordance with Section 89724(a) of the Education Code, revenue collected from Orientation and Distance Learning Fees for the Online Master of Science in Information Technology Program shall be deposited in the State Treasury and credited to the General Fund for the support of the university in addition to such other amounts as may be appropriated therefor by the Legislature.
