This executive order is issued under the authority granted by Education Code Sections 89035, 89708, 89709, Standing Orders of the Board of Trustees, Chapter III, Sections 1, 2 and 6-f-1, the Board of Trustees’ Resolution RFIN 03-04-00, and consonant with Executive Order No. 740.

Effective April 9, 2004 through September 30, 2004, campus presidents are authorized to establish a Category III, Summer 2004 Special Session Fee. Presidents should inform campus fee advisory committees of intent to establish this fee. The Summer 2004 Special Session Fee is established at a range of $6 to $470 for services associated with campus-based activities typically offered during state-supported terms. Matriculated students who are enrolled in state-supported instruction cannot be charged this fee in lieu of, nor in combination with, campus-based mandatory fees normally charged for the summer term.

In accordance with Education Code Sections 89704 and 89721(i), revenue collected from Extended Education fees may be deposited either in the State University Continuing Education Revenue Fund in the State Treasury or in a local trust account.
