Attached is a copy of Executive Order No. 891, which authorizes California State University, Los Angeles to establish a Graduate Nursing Distance Learning, Supplemental Fee through August 31, 2005. During the period through August 31, 2005, a systemwide review of Distance Learning fees is anticipated that may impact these fees. In accordance with policy of the California State University, the campus president has responsibility for implementing executive orders where applicable and for maintaining the campus repository and index for all executive orders. This Executive Order is issued under the authority granted by Education Code Sections 89035 and 89700, Standing Orders of the Board of Trustees, Chapter III, Sections 1,2 and 6-f-1, and Board of Trustees' Resolution RFIN 03-04-00, and consonant with Executive Order Number 740. Effective February 2, 2004 through August 31, 2005, California State University, Los Angeles is authorized to establish a Category III, Graduate Nursing Distance Learning, Supplemental Fee. The Graduate Nursing Distance Learning, Supplemental Fee is established at a fee rate of $200 per unit. The supplemental fee is optional for students who elect to attend graduate courses at a satellite location. Students may enroll in graduate nursing courses on campus without paying the supplemental fee. The fee will cover the cost of adjunct faculty present at satellite locations. The adjunct faculty will provide the primary CSULA faculty for each course with support related to course content and student evaluations, as well as provide technical assistance. Further, the supplemental fee will cover costs that include program development, program coordination, supplies and services, and personnel travel. In accordance with Section 89724(a) of the Education Code, revenue collected from the Graduate Nursing Distance Learning, Supplemental Fee shall be deposited in the State Treasury and credited to the General Fund for the support of the university in addition to such other amounts as may be appropriated therefor by the Legislature. |
