Attached is a copy of Executive Order No. 884, which authorizes San Jose State University to establish a Master of Biotechnology Degree, Special Session Fee. In accordance with policy of the California State University, the campus president has responsibility for implementing executive orders where applicable and for maintaining the campus repository and index for all executive orders. This Executive Order is issued under the authority granted by Education Code Sections 89035, 89708, Standing Orders of the Board of Trustees, Chapter III, Sections 1, 2 and 6-f-1, and Board of Trustees' Resolution RFIN 03-04-00, and consonant with Executive Order No. 740. Effective November 5, 2003, San Jose State University is authorized to establish a Category III, Master of Biotechnology Degree, Special Session Fee. The fee will cover cost of Extended Education registration and labs that include technical support, laboratory reagents, tools, and supplies. The Master of Biotechnology Degree, Special Session Fee is established at a fee level of $4,500 per term for a total of $19,000 (including $1,000 for summer internship) for the duration of the two-year program. In accordance with Education Code Sections 89704 and 89721(i), revenue collected from these fees may be deposited either in the State University Continuing Education Revenue Fund in the State Treasury or in a local trust account. |
